Hi Christian,

That is excellent news!

With regard to the Training Day, we are following the model ‘OWASP Training
– Projects and Resources you can use Today!’ which means that training
covers OWASP projects and/or modules. You are more than welcome to present
your OWASP Webslayer Project, if you like, or any of the other OWASP
projects with most visibility and maturity. The time allocated to each
training session varies but I think you could use any time from 45 minutes
up to an hour and a half if needed.

For your reference, please see the current agenda of the Training Day here -

Regarding the expenses, we are, indeed, paying travelling and accommodation
to participants for both days. We are working with an agency – Diplomata
Tours – who are booking all the flights and making the necessary
arrangements for accommodation. If you could let me know what airport you
will be travelling from and what day you need to go back to London, I will
have them on the case. They will then contact you directly.

If you could also let me know as soon as you can what OWASP Project/Module
you will be presenting so that I can close the agenda, that would be

As for the Conference day and agenda, I am copying Carlos Serrão so that you
both can talk directly.

Many thanks, best regards,

Hi Christian,

Following the email below, could you confirm whether you will be able to
participate in the Training Day/Conference at the IBWAS’10 on the 16th and
17th of December?

As we have to close the agenda and open the registrations for the event, I
would suggest that if we don’t have your reply by noon this Tuesday we will
assume that, unfortunately, you will not be able to make it.

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Dear Christian,

Following the email below, I would like to reiterate our interest in having
you participating in our IBWAS’10 Conference to be held on the 16th and 17th
of December, in Lisbon, Portugal.

This event’s organization follows a model that will include one day of OWASP
Training delivered by experienced OWASP members on OWASP documents and/or
tools (16th Dec) and one day of Conference (17th Dec). Attendance to the
conference will be free to anyone and any of the modules will be free for
OWASP members.

Due to budgetary constraints and the geographical scope of the Conference,
we are inviting, with expenses paid, only Latin-American members of the
Organization and OWASP members/Project Leaders from within Europe to
participate in the OWASP Training Day (presenting one of the OWASP
Projects/Modules) and in the Conference (with a talk about any subject
related to AppSec).

Furthermore, and although the participation as trainer is not remunerated,
the Organization will make the arrangements for travelling, hotel
accommodation and lunches/coffee breaks for the duration of the conference
and will assume the respective costs.

So, if you are based in Europe, able to participate on the OWASP Training
Day (presenting your own OWASP Webslayer Project or one of the other
Projects) and able to participate in the Conference Day as a speaker, we
would be very happy to have you with us!

I am very much looking forward to having your thoughts!

Best regards,

Hi guys,

Christian Martorella from Verizon UK is asking whether some conference costs
could be covered if he attends as a speaker.

I know Christian from OWASP Spain (besides he is argentinean) and he
delivers very nice talks... however I don't know if IBWAS could cover the

Maybe the accommodation in a 'shared-room basis'?
