Hey Paul/Everyone

I should be able to secure us a reasonable venue so will announce to the list once confirmed. Great to have you on board by the way!

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say hello, see who still lives on this list, and to start getting pumped for the next meeting.

JP is away at the moment (or being very quiet ;), so for now, no-one can stand in my way…

So what are you looking for from Sydney OWASP in 2010?

Personally, I’d like to see us achieve two things by the end of the year:

- Regular meetings. My preference would be monthly, to get a bit of a community going. I know other prefer quarterly, and make it more of an event. Probably having one meeting would be a good start, but monthly I would like to see.

- Create a forum to bridge the gap between security professionals and developers in Sydney.

And obviously, spread the good word of OWASP in the process.

So enough talk, more action! What better way to spark some life back in the meeting that with some lightning talks. I’ve been to a lot of great lightning talk sessions over the past year in the various developer groups in Sydney, its lots of fun and gets people involved.

So some rules (shameless ripped from alt.net<http://alt.net>, since I like their format):

- Duration: 10 minutes or less.

- Subject: Anything as long as it’s interesting (and probably webappsec related)

- Experience: No previous presentation experience required

- Attitude: Have fun! Grumpy bastards not allowed

Date: Tuesday, 23rd of March.

Venue: TBA. Sydney CBD somewhere. If you know a good venue let me know.

So drop me a line if you are keen to do a talk, and put the date in your calendar.
