I invite you for the third meeting of the *Pune Chapter* of OWASP (Open Web
Application Security Project ).

2 February 2008

11 am onwards

Asian School of Cyber Laws, First Floor, Sigma House, Senapati Bapat Road,
Pune 16

Hands-on session on Web Goat.

*WebGoat* is a deliberately insecure J2EE web application maintained by
OWASP <http://www.owasp.org/> designed to teach web application security
lessons. In each lesson, users must demonstrate their understanding of a
security issue by exploiting a real vulnerability in the WebGoat
application. For example, in one of the lessons the user must use SQL
injection <http://www.owasp.org/index.php/SQL_injection> to steal fake
credit card numbers. The application is a realistic teaching environment,
providing users with hints and code to further explain the lesson.

Why the name "WebGoat"? Developers should not feel bad about not knowing
security. Even the best programmers make security errors. What they need is
a scapegoat, right? *Just blame it on the 'Goat*!

The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is a worldwide free and
open community focused on improving the security of application software.
Our mission is to make application security "visible," so that people and
organizations can make informed decisions about application security risks.

OWASP chapter meetings are free and open to anyone interested in application

OWASP Pune Chapter Leader,
