Subject: [Owasp-leaders] New project: OWASP 1-Liner (appsec demo system)
To: OWASP Leaders <owasp-leaders at lists.owasp.org>

Dear OWASP Leaders,

I'm delighted to finally release *The OWASP 1-Liner*:

It's a public, free release of the system I've been using and developing
for two years when demoing appsec during talks. The purpose of making this
into an OWASP project is of course to enable the whole community to
*demo*appsec when we give talks at conferences, customer
presentations, or at
chapter meetings. My hope is that we can jointly extend 1-Liner to cover
most of the things we need, today and tomorrow.

The application is written in Java and JavaScript. It can demo attacks as
well as countermeasures and allows for live coding and patching since you
clone the code and deploy on your own machine.

Anyone who wants to contribute is welcome. Just installing and running the
demos can provide valuable feedback at this stage. Perhaps someone wants to
include an install on some of the appsec DVD bundles out there? Other
possible ways to get involved are listed on the website:

By this I've come full circle. Co-founded a chapter in 2007, chair of a
global AppSec conference in 2010, joined a global committee in 2010,
organized parts of the OWASP Summit in 2011, and now ... finally ... I join
the glamorous team of OWASP project leaders. :)

   Kind regards, John
