Hi OWASPers,

Brian Ventura brought to my attention an interesting event coming up this
month. I'm including the details below.

You are invited to register for a Portland-Metro business community event:
RANSOMWARE: FACTS, THREATS, and COUNTERMEASURES on August 26, 2016. This event
is an open house hosted by the City of Portland, Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI) and the United States Secret Service (USSS).

The purpose of this event is to enhance awareness of ransomware, which has
become a significant threat to U.S. businesses and individuals, and ways to
prepare for a ransomware attack on your organization.

Event Essentials:

 * Date and Times:  August 26, 2016, 9:00am and 1:00 pm
 * Format: Educational presentation and open forum discussions
 * Duration: Approximately 2 hours
 * Audience (Who should attend): Leaders of small and medium sized businesses
 * Location: World Trade Center Auditorium, 121 SW Salmon Street, Portland
 * Agenda:

     * (10 min): Introduction and Opening
     * (35 min): Ransomware Threat Overview – FBI/USSS
     * (15 min): Break
     * (30 min): Case Studies: Practical Steps for Prevention and
                 Remediation – City of Portland
     * (30 min): Q & A – Open Discussion

Space for these events is limited, so please register early. Reservations will
be treated on a first come, first served basis. Registered attendees per
organization may be limited to allow for a larger number of organizations to
participate. A request for registration does not guarantee participation. The
registration deadline is August 24th. Please only register for one session as
the content for both sessions will be the same.

Those who wish to attend should register on-line at:
