Security is not easy!
Writing secure code, testing that code and deploying it securely is great.
However, it is not enough,
What about defining security requirements?
Secure Design to minimize the attack surface and provide more attack
tolerance and resilience?
How do you consistently install security controls to reduce your security
*It is very rare to come across a training that offers answers to all these
questions and more.*

*A Day of Secure Software Development Best Practices with OWASP Ottawa*
OWASP Ottawa is offering a day of hands on training for developers and
software architects interested in secure software development.
The training will be broken down into three major topics spanning the
development life cycle:
- *Design phase:* identifying security requirements, secure design
standards, and threat modelling
- *Implementation phase:* secure coding practices and code review
- *Verification phase (QA):* security validation offered in Java.
All topics will be enforced with hands on examples as students work through
the development of an HR web application. Students will cover the entire
lifecycle of the application, from analysis to deployment while integrating
security best practices and using tools based on OWASP material.
We are only able to offer this training for one day on February 27, 2012
The cost is $500/person or $350/person for members of OWASP. Memberships
for OWASP can be purchased for $50 here
