Dear Eduardo Lima,

Defending web applications is critical!

The importance of data entrusted to web applications is growing, but
traditional network defenses, such as firewalls, do not secure them.
DEV522: Defending Web Applications Security Essentials
(http://www.sans.org/info/101404) will teach you how to build
defense-in-depth, including "tripwires" and "obstacles" that can detect,
channel, and thwart attacks!

This course covers the OWASP Top 10 and the CWE/SANS Top 25 Most
Dangerous Software Errors. The material goes beyond classic web
applications and includes web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX and web
services. To benefit a wider audience, this course is programming
language agnostic and will focus on security strategies rather than
coding-level implementation.

Johannes Ullrich, SANS' Chief Research Officer, and Certified Instructor
Jason Lam will teach this course in an online virtual classroom
beginning May 21. The class will meet two evenings a week for six
weeks. Don't worry if you have to miss a session; all classes will be
recorded and posted online for later viewing.
