Innovation Relative To Security Software - Devtar Singh - IDC - MOSC2011

An overview of the security software market in the region with an
analysis of M&A activity impacting the future products. Correlation
between innovation and the influence of financial markets is looked at
as well.

Speaker: Devtar Singh

Devtar Singh is the Associate Market Analyst in the Software team
based in Malaysia. In this role, Devtar focuses on infrastructure
management, information management analytics and security software
research in Southeast Asia. He heads the Technology Investment
Research practice for Southeast Asia where he works with venture
capital firms and investment banks on technology investment
strategies. He also authors reports and participates in regional
consulting projects.

Prior to joining IDC, Devtar worked for Accenture as the Technology
Analyst focusing in the oil/gas and fund management industries. Here
he was involved on M&A and sequence engineering projects. During his
tenure with Accenture, Devtar obtained his ITIL IT Service Management
and Oracle Order and Service Management certification.

Devtar graduated from Multimedia University, Malaysia with a Bachelors
of Information Technology majoring in Security Technology. Throughout
his bachelors, he was a Microsoft Student Partner for Multimedia
University, Malaysia. Devtar was a mentor for Google’s Open Source
Programs Office through the Summer of Code program.
