    <p>We are a non-profit organisation with a Board. We have 2 Major
      conferences every year: AppSec Europe and AppSec USA (not quite
      sure what happened to AppSec APAC).</p>
    <p>The board consists of 7 members:<br>

      <li>Johanna Curiel</li>
      <li>Tom Brennan</li>
      <li>Andrew van der Stock</li>
      <li>Josh Sokol<br>
      </li>
      <li>Michael Coates</li>
      <li>Tobias Gondrom<br>
      </li>
    </ul>
    AppSec Europe is attended by OWASP members from 30+ countries.
    Including non-European countries. Including USA and Canada. <br>
    <p>There were 30+ OWASP Chapter Leaders at AppSec Europe in Belfast
      last week waiting to talk to their Board and discuss their issues,
      hopes and plans with them. And nobody turned up.... well... apart
      from Matt Tesauro (ex-Board member) who was absolutely fantastic
      and provided invaluable help and advice. The experience of talking
      to Matt Tesauro in person and understanding what the Board is up
      to and what vision it has for OWASP was irreplaceable.<br>
    </p>
    <p>Last year when I had an opportunity to meet and talk to Andrew
      van der Stock at AppSec Europe in Rome it was a similar
      experience. The re-assurance he gave me personally that the board
      is supporting the community and the advice and help from him
      cannot be compared with the brevity of e-mails and mailing lists.<br>
    </p>
    <p> Yes, we all have commitments, families, day jobs and
      emergencies. However the unique experience of being a part of a
      Global Community and the opportunity to network with like-minded
      professionals and community members from all around the world
      gathered in one place for 2 days is priceless. No other security
      conference like BlackHat/DEFCON/RSA gives you this kind of
      experience, the same kind of buzz and the sense of being a part of
      something great like our OWASP AppSec Conferences. <br>
    </p>
    <p>Dear OWASP Board. Your work is appreciated. Your presence and
      engagement in person with the global community members is also
      appreciated twice a year. Only 4 days per year...<br>
    </p>

              there is the point of felt support if board members
              attending a OWASP event (of the void of that if no).<br>
