Here are my thoughts:

Pros:

- Cost Effective: no traveling, no hotels

- Cheaper fees: probably online would be cheaper or even free?

- More visibility as more people would be encouraged to attend

- Time Effective: I can pick and choose and do other stuff while I am attending

Cons:

- No networking but that would be OK to gain all the above

Regards,

I just "attended" a Microsoft Tech day virtual event. You were able to
register for as many sessions as you can attend that went throughout the
entire day. http://www.msfttechdays.com/public/home.aspx Another venue that
may be an interesting twist is to host a virtual conference in SecondLife.
I've attended Java training in SecondLife, https://slx.sun.com/1179270524
which was cool and useful.
Subject: [Owasp-leaders] Virtual Conferences?

After doing the NYC 2008 OWASP event that had over 750 people, I
learned a lot and found new respect about the hard work that it takes
to organize a conference. Kudos to Dave Wichers, Jeff Moss, Bruce
Potter and other conference organizers world wide, its not easy.

I am throwing an idea out there that I would like global feedback of
the OWASP-LEADERS list members of this list.

Would you attend a OWASP event/training was virtual?

I am currently researching http://www.inxpo.com for this purpose.

If you have never seen what they do in 2D no client click:

We simply need some demographic information on this topic so I can
prioritize efforts.
Thanks in advance.
