[Owasp-leaders] Google AdWords & HTTPS

Hey All,

I hope you can help me with a subtle Google AdWords Ad Ranking question
that's preventing a company from moving to HTTPS.

The company is very protective of their Google Ad Words ranking, i.e.
there's been a lot of time spent getting this ranking as high as can be,
and it's taken a long time (months).

If anyone changes their google ad word landing page URL, it wipes the
ranking. I.e. if you change the domain name, or path, etc., then the
ranking is reset.

In this case, everything is staying the same APART from the scheme, which
is moving to HTTPS everwhere for the site. However they are worried that
changing the scheme (HTTP -> HTTPS) will wipe their ranking just the same
as changing the domain or path.

Has anyone come across this before, and know if google count the scheme in
any adword changes? I can't find any sites or google documentation on the
subject.

This is a business complication to moving a company to HTTPS everywhere,
they simply wish to know if they need to prepare for ad word ranking being
wiped upon scheme changes.

Thanks for any advice,

Gary
