I personally am not bothered by meetup promoting this political agenda, but my chapter also doesn't utilize meetup - we use a combination of social media, Eventbrite for ticketing/RSVPs, and the OWASP-hosted mailing list, and it seems to work OK for our small chapter.

My chapter members are members of multiple meetups and that's what they use to track, schedule and RSVP to their meetings, including our Chapter meeting.

Moving to another platform may reduce the chapter's reach and visibility, so I intend to keep using meetup.com <http://meetup.com> for the foreseeable future...

We could build our own websites per chapter and host them on Github.

Until recently meetup.com <http://meetup.com> has catered to and been used by people of a wide diversity of backgrounds. Now they have turned their organization into an political movement that is sure to disenfranchise a large chunk of the OWASP community. It's no longer appropriate for OWASP to have a relationship with an organization that is politically biased and offensive to people that disagree with their political views, or don't want to support the political agenda. On the meetup home at the bottom is floating panel with a link to https://www.meetup.com/pro/resist/

How can we sever our relationship with meetup? I know I recently got an email saying my account was expiring and asking me to pay the $50 meetup membership fee. I won't pay it!
