Hi All

During this appsec, I had the pleasure to speak with Matt and Tiffany
(separate) regarding the wiki content and a plan to re-structure it.

Wiki editors(including me) have been doing some clean up for months and
have become quite familiar with the main issues of the wiki page, but there
is so much content that our volunteers efforts are not enough to get this
faster done.

Based on this, I spoke with Matt about setting up a draft for the Sitemap
content of the wiki and feedback wth the wiki-editors/leaders group to
re-categorized it

Once we have done that, as Tiffany also suggested, we can hire someone to
execute the work of categorizing the pages after we have provided enough
opportunity to the community engaged with wiki editing, such a project
leaders & Wiki-editors who are the most to engaged with this activity.

Also, the staff can provide information regarding which categories they
consider necessary or structure based on their own work and information
that needs to be published.

Keep in mind, this is outside the technical work of new templates and what
Matt has been working on a POC to improve and update the Wiki version, or a
nicer home page.

The wiki has been an important form for volunteers to contribute and find
content and has a huge impact for consumers of our content around the
world. I don't think we need to replace it , but enhance it and maintained
properly.

Once we have the skeleton/structure, we can then hire someone to execute
the work of re-categorizing. This is in fact very simple to do, but it can
be a lot of work because of the amount of pages that requires clean up and
re-categorization. However this is only possible after we have agreed how
this structure should be

I would like very much to work closely with this person so she/he can
execute the work properly and I also think that the wiki-editors/leaders
can provide very valuable feedback in this process

The plan as spoken with Matt is the following:
1.- Create a Sitemap draft on how the content should be structured.
I'll provide this draft next wek and from there we can indeed provide
a time-frame for feedback

-2. Start with a major cleaning up , which I and see wiki-editors members
have been doing on/off but we can dedicate more time with a dedicated
person for this part the coming months to clean as much as possible the
following:

   - Uncategorized categories
   <https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Special:UncategorizedCategories>
   - Uncategorized files
   <https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Special:UncategorizedFiles>

   - Unused categories

   - Unused templates
   <https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Special:UnusedTemplates>
   - Orphaned pages <https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Special:LonelyPages>

We will have soon an upcoming meeting to allow everyone provide feedback
and join the initiative

Feedback always welcome
