[Owasp-leaders] The OWASP Board

Folks,

While I do not fully agree with the perspective of Matt and Josh, I have 
ultimate respect for both of these gentlemen. They are doing their best 
in a very difficult situation spending hours on this while work and 
family members put demands on their time. Yet still, they have met to 
discuss, interviewed the folks involved and are continuing to listen to 
the community and evolve their perspective.

I also have watched Matt and Josh do nothing but support and encourage 
Johanna in a very positive way at every possible turn, in only 
respectful ways. The whole board is full of Johanna fans for what she 
has done for the foundation. But we are all volunteers and cannot always 
act as fast as members of the community would like. We're doing our 
best, sincerely, in the middle of a very difficult situation.

I know that many are upset at the OWASP board for the benchmark right 
now. I've been one of the strongest voices on the board to remove, 
demote and cease and disist marketing about this project. But I do not 
want to demonize board members who disagree with my perspective. It's a 
tricky debate. Innovtation vs Vendor Neutrality. Which is more 
important? That's a debate that has raged at OWASP from day 1 with no 
easy answer.
