Thank you Jay. That is engagement. Keeping members coming and volunteers
active, outreach to other like-minded groups and groups where you have
synergies, outreach to universities and student populations, etc. Also,
having a structure so volunteers know what to do, etc.

>> I am finalizing a program for a set of Chapter Leader Workshops at
>> AppSecUSA and would love to get some feedback. We currently have a room
>> during the AM sessions on Thursday and all day between keynotes on Friday.
>> I would like to do four hour-long sessions on:
>> - People and Capital: who can help you (meet OWASP staff), how to
>> recruit members and volunteers, what you can do with funding and how to
>> know what you have.
>> - Jumpstarting a Chapter - The Basics: Overview of the updated
>> chapter leader handbook, meeting formats, collaboration tools, social
>> media, etc.
>> - Hosting a Conference or Training event: how to host a money-making
>> event for your chapter, event formats, working with sponsors and speakers.
>> - OWASP Wiki Edit-a-thon/Hackathon: Intro to the owasp.org wiki and
>> tools you can use to develop your chapter wiki page and integrate external
>> I am most excited about the Edit-a-thon. There has been some discussion
>> on this list about how to better curate content on the wiki. I'd also like
>> to explore APIs that can help integrate some of the internal and external
>> content. Meetup has an API that should allow leaders to autopost upcoming
>> events to their wiki page or to the mailing lists. How would you feel about
>> having access to tools that help you integrate external resources into the
>> wiki? What can we build to help us run chapters better?
>> Are the above sessions something you would be interested in attending
>> (project and chapter leaders welcome)? What time would you want to attend?
>> I'm taking all ideas in consideration and your ideas as leaders are the
>> most important. We want these sessions to be very interactive, tip sharing
>> from seasoned and new chapter leaders.
