[Owasp-leaders] OWASP Board Election - What do you want in a board candidate?

Leaders,

Board elections are coming up soon. The election process is being handled
by the operations team and volunteers - in other words, board members
aren't involved in the election process. While I have no role in the
election process itself I would like to encourage a thoughtful discussion
within our community.

*Some suggested topics for consideration:*
What you want (and don't want) from your board members.
What questions do you want to ask candidates?
What does an ideal board member look like to you?
What have you seen that is good and what needs to improve?
What is the balance of security expertise vs knowledge in running a
non-profit that is ideal for a board member?
<and more>

My hope is that the board election will be the end result of a good
discussion and review of the candidates, their positions, and what they
stand for.

In the end, the power of OWASP is our volunteers. The OWASP board role (and
forth coming OWASP committees) are both groups that help advance the OWASP
platform for everyone to succeed.

All details on board election are listed here:

A few of the dates from the timeline:
August 15, 2014 - Deadline for Call for Candidates Closes
August 19, 2014 - Candidates Announced in OWASP Connector and posted to
Social Media
August 25, 2014 - Deadline for the Questions From the Community for the
Candidates

Thanks!
