I've received quite a few emails about this proposal and I feel that I need to provide some additional clarifications:

The team that has put together the proposal are not looking for more partners. They only want *owasp* to join the consortium.

They have already put together the proposal and we'll only need to add some bits.

The deadline is on august 28th and thus there's no much time to out together a brand new proposal. Also we'll need to reply ASAP to them.

OWASP can participate in such a proposal/consortium as a "standardization community".
>> I cannot disclose more information in public but the proposal involves the protection of personal data. The proposal comes from Prof. Spinellis (http://www.dmst.aueb.gr/dds/index.en.html); he was one of our keynotes at AppSec EU 2012. I strongly believe that participation in such projects is a fantastic opportunity and of great value for OWASP, and actually one of the reasons we created the EU entity.
>> At this stage we are looking for a couple of key project participants. They need to be from the EU and preferably (but not necessarily) from the research/academic community. If you are interested please get in touch with me asap and I'll gladly send you a more detailed draft of the proposal. The deadline for the proposal is approaching quickly.
