Hello OWASP Leaders,
and OWASP Chapter Leaders in APAC region.

We OWASP Japan will have a OWASP Japan party at Dec 16th, Monday.

The purpose of this party is to promote AppSec Apac 2014 in Tokyo.

I would like to ask you to give us a short message to Japanese
potential attendee.
Text message is enough, and if you give us a video message, we will show them.

And I would like to ask you to help me to promote the AppSec Apac 2014
in Tokyo as well.

Please take a look at the slides and allow me to introduce the conference again.

After the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011, the online security
risks face by sites started to support the recovery effort showed the
Japanese public the importance of web application security.

In 2012 OWASP Japan started its activities holding OWASP Nights
approximately every 3 months and in just a year since starting, as of
December 2013 we achieved a total participation of over 2,000 people.

This May we received approval to hold the 2014 OWASP AppSec APAC in
March of next year,
which will mark the 3 year anniversary of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

Even before starting OWASP Japan, various OWASP documents, guidelines
and tools are widely used in Japan throughout the private and public

Which is why even in our first year our events have experienced
consistent attendance
and support from various kind of companies like SCSK and Rakuten.

(Recently HP Japan joined our local supporter and this company will be
Diamond Sponsor of coming AppSec Apac 2014 in Tokyo! )

Our events have not only featured specialists from Japan such as
Yosuke Hasegawa-san, and Sen Ueno san but also from abroad such as
Justin Searle-san and Paul Scott-san.

For 2014 we have much bigger plans.

AppSec APAC will be held at the brand new Sola City Conference Centre
in Ochanomizu, which is a central location in downtown Tokyo very
close to Akihabara.

Akihabara as you know is known for its many electronics stores and as
the heart of the otaku subculture in Japan also with many reasonable
hotels nearby.
You will be able to interact with security specialists from not only
Japan but from all over the world.

March is also one of the best times to visit Japan, in the middle of
the sakura cherry blossom season.

Tokyo is a city full of culture, full of history, and full of delicious food.
Tokyo has the most Michelin 3 star restaurants in the world(If you
like ZAGAT, no problem)

Imagine, enjoying Japanese food and Japanese sake near the Imperial
Palace surrounded by sakura cherry blossoms. I guarantee this will be
a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Where else in the world can you interact with world-class specialists
and professional,
and at the same time have such a unique cultural experience?

Only in Japan. Only at AppSec APAC in Tokyo.

The AppSec APAC logo features a Sumo wrestler representing security
and defense whereas the rising sun symbolizes raising awareness of
OWASP in Japan.
In Japan, the mental attitude of software security is like dawn of a new day.
Only you, OWASP community can help people awake from sleep.

Please help us by joining/attending/supporting/promoting AppSec Apac
2014 in Tokyo.

Through this we hope to create a more secure internet society not only
in Japan but throughout the world.

We would truly appreciate your help with promoting the event and
definitely want you to be involved as much as possible!

I look forward to seeing you in Tokyo next March!
