Dear leaders,

last week on Wednesday we held our German OWASP Day 2012. We'd like
to summarize the results.

Compared to 2011, which was a already great year, in 2012 we had more
than 200 participants which is an increase of ~30%. As a consequence the
financial outcome could be labeled as a big success. Also due to the
~34000 € income from sponsorships.

Looking at the topics and speakers in 2011 where attendees were pleased,
2012 we felt it was even better. We had a separate, small mobile
security track and managed to present more talks in the one day. The
feedback forms we got and evaluated were giving our conference very good
grades.

We were glad that we could welcome a few speakers from outside Germany.
Jim Manico and Jerry Hoff did an excellent job giving defense talks.
Simon Bennetts' ZAP was great attracting developers as well as OWASP
rookies. Angela Sasse (University College of London, closing note)
teached us how important it is to not bother users with useless
warnings. Volkmar Lotz (keynote) shared some light into the security
education at SAP.

Atmosphere was as excellent as last year, same Bavarian style reception
event the evening before. This year it was Jim Manico opened the beer
barrel with 2.5 hits.

If you have any questions, pls let us know.

Thx,

Dirk
