Dinis, I’d be a remote participant for at least part of the summit if it’s available. What work specifically needs to be done to get this to happen?

Filipe, that is a great idea, and I guess what I'm trying to say is that unless we create a 'solution' for the remote participants, it will not happen at the scale and quality-level that it could.
FYI, we currently have 140 confirmed attendees (with 2 weeks to go, so the final number will be higher). But the key question is 'how many remote participants could/should we have'? (the video broadcast provided by SAPO.pt can handle up to 1000 streams)
If all works accordingly to plan, we will have very good digital coverage of the Summit (video streams, live blogging, onsite journalist), but will we have anyone listening? and contributing remotely???
I've had numerous exchanges with key players in our industry (including OWASP leaders), that are not about to make it to the Summit, but are committed to find the time to participate remotely. The problem is that I have nowhere to point them to!
The' physical' Summit Participants are treated as '1st class' citizens (with a huge amount of time, energy and focus being put on making sure that they have the most productive time at the Summit), but unfortunately , the remote Summit participants are being treated as 'off-the-chart' class citizens :(
If we can't pull this off, it will be massive missed opportunity, since there is a lot of talent (and decision makers) that we could be reaching out and remotely engaging with the Summit

I spoke to him over the phone so we could met here in Madrid, and one of the subjects was if he was going to the Summit. We will not join for the summit, he said, for professional reasons. Therefore i told him about the internet broadcast and he was very pleased with that.
I just did my "little" networking and with that i do believe that him and his two friends, that were also at the Lisbon meeting, will attend to the Summit Online.
Why not grabbing owasp members emails and send them over a quick tip !? And if possible create an inscription board? So that way we would now how much attendees we will have (expected ones)...
Is it a bad idea ?!

This means that remote participation can now be a reality, BUT we need a team to manage it!!!!!!
I sent an email a couple days ago (https://lists.owasp.org/pipermail/owasp-leaders/2011-January/004324.html) which received NO (i.e. zero) response
The owasp leaders on this list that are NOT going to the Summit, are the ones that have the most interest in making this happen, so some of you really need to step-up and help to make this happen.
This could set-up a great precedent where we are able to figure out how to allow remote participation into important working sessions, like the ones that will happen at the Summit.
This also opens up the opportunity for popular Working Session to have remote participation of key players that were not able to make it to the Summit (Browser guys, I'm looking at you and the 'missing' browsers :) )

I'm very happy to say that we found a Portuguese sponsor for the video broadcast of the Summit.
The company is called SAPO (see www.sapo.pt<http://www.sapo.pt>) and it is the Portuguese equivalent of AOL.
Below you can see the list of items that they are providing as part of their sponsorship:
* Temporary ADSL link for 1 video stream
* Equipment to convert the video signal
* Broadcast up to 1000 concurrent users
* Simple personalization of the broadcast video page (logo, etc)
* Setup and Support
The cost of this sponsorship (if OWASP was paying for it) is 4,350€ (which we are rounding up to $6,000 USD)
This is really exciting since it will provide 1x high quality 24h video stream of the Summit which is going to be provided by a professional team who has experience of doing this for other events.
We will also try to provide video coverage for the other 2 rooms, but that won't have the quality and level of service.
