[Owasp-leaders] ZAP Drum banging ;)

Hi folks,

Looks like the summit was a success, sorry I couldnt be there.
I noticed quite a few concerns being raised about the lack of focus on
OWASP tools / applications.

Which is a good enough excuse for me to do a bit of drum banging ;)

The last release of the OWASP Zed Attack Proxy has now been downloaded
over 2000 times.
And thats in just over one month.
Its also just been translated into Japanese!
I consider these to be significant achievements, especially as
(officially at least) its still an alpha status project.
[As an aside, are any other OWASP tools (or other pen test tools for
that matter) available in Japanese?]

For those of you who dont know, ZAP is specifically aimed at people
with less security experience, especially developers and functional
testers.
I think these are the people we should be doing our best to reach out to.
And I think with a higher profile ZAP could be a very valuable way of
spreading the appsec message.
Any suggestions?

And yes, I'm talking with Jerry about featuring ZAP in his excellent
tutorial series :)

Many thanks,

Psiinon
