I've established contact with the organizers of O'Reilly's OSCON. I'd like to offer a one day OWASP mini-conf in Portland, OR in late July this year, followed by a PDX OWASP chapter meeting in the evening. Logistics, timing, and even if it'll go ahead are still yet to be organized, but I've just asked for a room and a projector at this stage. Last year, the Python folks did this for themselves, and it was a resounding success.
There's about 4000-5000 developers at OSCON, so if this comes off, this would be an unparalleled opportunity for OWASP to make a mark in our target demographic - developers with basically (and hopefully) minimal to zero cost to OWASP beyond talk selection and getting things organized on site.
I've got a meeting with the OSCON organizers firming up for later this week or early next. If anyone else is interested in helping organize this event, please let me know and I'll see if I can get you into the meeting as well.
