Hi Leaders and Summit Participants!
OWASP has become increasingly democratic as we have grown and matured over
the past seven years. First we established a Board, then we created Global
Committees, then we had our first Board election. Today, I'm proud to
announce that the OWASP Board has committed to a fully open and democratic
election process for ALL of the Board seats. This has been the plan since
the last election, and now is the time to put it into action.
At the OWASP Summit, the OWASP Community will define the specifics about the
election process, term length, continuity, eligibility requirements, and
other key factors for a successful and productive Board. We may decide to
stagger the elections to ensure some continuity. Like all the deliverables
from the Summit, there will be a notice and comment period, and then we'll
put it into effect.
I expect the election could happen in the months following the Summit as
soon as we can get it organized. I hope that the current Board members will
run for re-election although I'm looking forward to some new candidates as
well. Thank you all for your help in making this happen!
I hope you are as excited as I am about Portugal - see you there!
