I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and a new OWASP chapter
serving the Orlando, FL area. I have roughly 18 years experience in IT as
Web Developer, Tech Support, Systems Administrator, IT Director, Disaster
Recovery Consultant, Incident Responder, BCP Coordinator, IT Security
Analyst and Information Security Manager. I currently manage the Information
Security program for Orlando International Airport (MCO). I'm more of an IT
Security Generalist with a fascination with Web App Security and security
testing in general. Our initial membership includes PCI Consultants,
Developers, a Forensics Expert Witness and a Penetration Tester. We hope to
grow rapidly in the coming months and I may be reaching out to some of you
for advice in this area.

I had been speaking to colleagues in the Orlando area who were interested in
being a part of OWASP but with the nearest chapter being a couple hours away
we decided to start our own. We don't proclaim to be experts but we have a
passion that can only be fueled by expanding our own knowledge and helping
others understand the security issues facing their respective organizations.
I hope we can all learn a lot and help contribute to expand the reach of
OWASP to people in the Orlando area who already have an interest in, or a
need for exposure to, the core principles of OWASP and good application
security practices. Unfortunately I will not be attending AppSec USA as I am
also responsible for PCI compliance within my organization and the PCI
Community Meeting is held at the same time but I look forward to future
interactions with each of you through this list, chapter meetings, project
participation and future OWASP events.
