[Owasp-leaders] OWASP Honorary Individual Membership

Doug,
In my view, conferences don't count as projects, although this doesn't
necessarily mean conference organizers won't be entitled to be given
honorary membership.
As for the criteria we used this year to select project leaders to be given
this 'award', as far as I understood, we tried to make it as inclusive as
possible. However, as you know, we are currently working on a new
methodology to assess projects and releases and hopefully next year this
metrics will allow us to setting up a more precise set of rules.
That's my 2 cents anyway.
Thanks,
Paulo Coimbra,

and I'll throw conference organization in there. Do conferences count as
projects?
Conversely, do all projects get counted? what about projects that are
defunct, or never went anywhere? Is there a way to distinguish projects
which contribute versus something someone was experimenting with for a short
period of time and gave up on, or hasn't been advanced in many years?
My stirring the pot . . .

Hi Paulo and All,
Thanks for this.
I just wished to have your opinion on the fact that, although that this is
not a real Project as such, what do you think about adding to the list the
translations carried out since years of some OWASP reference docs?
Indeed, the exercise of translation is difficult and as such and most of the
time, has to be treated "like" a project. Trust me, I know what I'm talking
about.
Apologies for this comment but I think that this may be taken into account
as well, don't you think?
Of course, this is just a proposal ;-)
Cheers
