Happy New Year to all OWASP-Leaders ;)
Reminder, if you have the passion, cycles and want to enhance OWASP globally
as a professional organization, we request your involvement with Global
Committees see: https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Global_Committee_Pages
Since the OWASP Summit in Portugal November 2008, individuals have been
working on the committees to come up with new ideas and suggestions to
improve OWASP including:
Membership
Conferences
Projects/Tools
Chapters
Industry
Education
They have been been working hard on a collective agreement and writing a
committee plan/proposal. Each of these plans will be reviewed and voted on
at the January 2009 OWASP Foundation Board Meeting on either Jan 6th and/or
Feb 5th (History: https://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Board_Meetings)
Your volunteerism to effect additional growth regionally is encouraged and
required to truly have a global representation of individuals based
worldwide. That is why, ideally Global Committees, should have a regional
"spokesman" from each region in the world to collaborate and formalize
efforts to continue to build our professional association.
**NOTE** that applications are currently being accepted until January 9th
2009, this responsibility will be for a 24 month term.
To add your comments/suggestions/topic of concern, please visit
https://www.owasp.org/index.php/Global_Committee_Pages and contact your
regional representative or become that point of contact person. If you
would rather learn about creating a rogue CA certificate you can do that as
well... Just click and read http://www.win.tue.nl/hashclash/rogue-ca
Good fortune in 2009... Just watch where you click.

Tom Brennan
