Encryption offers unparalleled protection for sensitive
information, but many implementations suffer from common mistakes
that effectively negate the security gains. This talk will
discuss those mistakes and identify how to correctly use
encryption to increase the security of your web applications.
Topics include algorithm selection, encryption of cookies and
other client data, use of SSL/TLS, and database encryption.
Pizza and soft drinks will be provided and a signed copy of Kevin
Kenan's book "Cryptography in the Database" will be raffled off.
OWASP is the the Open Web Application Security Project, an
organization focused on improving the security of applications.
