[Owasp-chicago] Help with Developer Outreach

Hello folks,

I've been wondering for some time now how to improve OWASP's ability to *reach
developers*. I've been trying to do it in my own ways, which include:

   - Talking at developer conferences about security
   - Seeking out specific developers and asking them questions
   - Trying to get ThoughtWorks to put security info in their Technology
   Radar
   - Blogging
   - etc.

I talked to Vitaly about trying to form a working group in the OWASP
Chicago chapter to try to share work on these ideas and ideally to test
them and start to prove what works. I believe OWASP across the board needs
to do a better job at this and I thought it would be cool to see a group
from Chicago start laying groundwork for a model for that.

I'm totally open to different ideas, but I was envisioning a small peer
non-hierarchical non-vendor oriented working group talking about topics on
email, sharing a basic plan and approach on trello and eventually having
quick short "sub" discussions at OWASP Chapter meetings. Then eventually,
if we can find things that seem to work sharing that with the larger
group.

Please let me know if you are interested and willing to participate via
email at least on a trial basis!

Thanks,
Matt
