OWASP's all-volunteer participants produce free, professional quality,
open-source documentation, tools, and standards related to web application
security. The OWASP community facilitates conferences, local chapters,
articles, and message forums. Participation in OWASP is free and open to
all, as are all the materials we produce.

The next meeting of the OWASP Buffalo NY chapter will be held Tuesday,
November 16th at 6:00 PM. The meeting location is at Network Security
Corp.'s offices at 405 N. French Road, Suite 100, Amherst, NY 14228. The
topic of the meeting is "Best Practices in Web Application Security, Part
I". We will be covering different methods for handling input validation,
session management, and authentication, with specific examples in PHP and
ASP .NET. All attendees are invited to bring their own code samples and
methods for handling these security issues. In future meetings, we will be
presenting best practices for access control, error handling, secure
storage, denial of service, server configuration (IIS and Apache), and
detecting intrusions.

All are invited to attend, and attendance is free. If you plan on attending,
please pre-register by sending an email to owasp at nsec.net. Please spread the
word to anyone that is involved in web application development.
