[Owasp-board] On use of Group Chat & Transparency

I wanted to talk about IM Groups - during AppSecEU I setup for members of
the board and the ED a WhatsApp Group to coordinate stuff, and it was
pretty hand for quick questions, knowing where folks are that kind of thing
- it was also quite friendly to share pictures, that kind of thing.
Matt and Greg don't use WhatsApp so we had to make sure for important stuff
they are notified, and all board related activity to be discussed through
Anyways three weeks after AppSecEU it is still handy to quickly share
links, chat about interesting topics or send quick notifications. In order
to make sure everyone is included and it's transparent - one option is to
use Google hangouts - since it's part of the foundation's g-suite account
thus all @OWASP.org accounts work there so all board members are accounted
For transparency you also have public links so people can see the
conversations. Example: https://hangouts.google.com/group/w1FsAHKBQaaYmcfB3
Alternatively we could use the #board slack channel which has not been used
since December last year https://owasp.slack.com/messages/C08E5QJ3S .
It should be worth noting that there are only 2 months this year where the
board mailing list had more that 5 threads (we talk a lot more than that)
In fact there were a couple months where there were only two threads and
one month where the only thread for that month was created by someone who
was not even board member.
