> Dear Tom and Karen,
> Thank you for all of your work on the NYC RFP thus far.
> During the executive meeting on Feb 7, we continued our discussion around
> the size of the NYC RFP and the impact it would have on the OWASP
> organization. We are acutely aware of the time and effort that has been
> put into creating a strong submission and we are grateful for this and all
> of your contributions to OWASP.
> Nevertheless, we unanimously agreed that it is a difficult time for the
> Foundation to take on such an ambitious project.
> We want to clearly and directly ask you to immediately discontinue
> activities and investments of time and resources into the NYC RFP on behalf
> of OWASP.
> We collectively believe that our community faces other serious and basic
> issues that we need to address before engaging of an endeavor of this
> magnitude. One board member put it as: we’d be hitting above our weight
> class. We share your ambitious vision for our community and hope to be
> able to move up in weight classes over the coming years.
> In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
> Kind regards,
> Martin Knobloch
> OWASP Chairman of the BOD
