[Owasp-board] Migration to managed cloud has started

I just gave Rackspace the go ahead to start the migration process.
THIS WILL NOT EFFECT OUR CURRENT SERVICES.
What is going to happen is new boxes will be stood up and the file systems
will be synchronized between the public server and the managed servers.
Once this is done, we will have the opportunity to test and verify the new
servers meet our needs and then we'll do a cut-over to point the DNS
records to the new managed hosts. At most, we may have ~ 1 hour of
partial availability as DNS propagates. We'll also be lowing out TTL for
the current DNS records prior to the cut-over to further reduce that
partial availability window. The migration can happen en masse or one
server at a time - our choice.
I am planning on writing up a more complete migration plan - but that will
need to wait until the weekend and can also be used to drive discussion
with the Rackspace migration team during Monday's call.
BTW, I spoke with our migration engineer on the phone just now and he was
very familiar with OWASP and thrilled to find out that Rackspace was
hosting our servers.
