[Owasp-board] Paulo's contract

Allow me, please, to take a bit of your time to present two issues related
with my contractual relation with OWASP.
The first aspect concerns hierarchy. As you know, since the beginning of my
collaboration with this Foundation I have always reported directly to the
Board, mainly through Dinis, formerly one of its members. I understand that
this chain of authority may have been only the result of the organizational
circumstances we lived on at the time and not a rational decision to give me
direct access to the top of our flattened power pyramid. Either way,
nevertheless, the fact is that I got used to it and have considered it a
prestigious perk of my role. Additionally, I am convinced that I did an
honest effort to deserve what seems to me to be a privilege. On top of that,
in pure organizational terms, I also think that makes sense if the work-area
that I am involved with, Projects, has direct access to the Board instead of
reporting to a medium single point already involved with several other
To contextualize, I've written you the paragraph above because yesterday
Kate has emailed and informed me that she was planning to send me an updated
version of my contract in which the situation changes and that from now on I
should report to her. I answered that I would address you instead to deal
with this issue directly.
Being so and quite frankly, I am taking your time because, even if I don't
intend to turn this into a disruptive issue, I would like to clearly say
that I prefer the former chain of command. I have no problems at all with
Kate and consider my obligation to keep her, and everybody else in OWASP, as
much informed as possible about the work I do, and I understand that since
Dinis left we need to find another frame to articulate my activity. However,
the symbolic is also important to me, and I respectfully ask to keep my
current formal and functional dependency. If you agree, I will do my best to
conference call regularly with Kate so that we both can be efficient but, in
this circumstance, I would do so having in mind that I can address you
directly without subverting the formal hierarchy.
The second issue, I regret but it is also a boring one, concerns my salary.
I've had the opportunity to talk about it during the Summit with a few of
you. Please do not forget to give it a thought.
I thank the time I've taken.
