I would prefer it say OWASP on it, but I'm not a Scandanavian. I'm OK with
them adjusting based on local behavior, but I would think we would
'recommend' having it say OWASP unless they object.

Subject: [Owasp-board] Logo use for conferences
Group, considering the discussions regarding logo usage that have been
occurring lately, I wanted to run this by you.
At a previous conference (AppSec DC) Jeff stated that anything that we
distribute during the event should say "OWASP" on it. This was in reference
to the AppSec DC logo that was used. I have attached it for reference. The
guys in EU have chosen the attached "beanie fly" logo for their items.
John states: "We have specifically opted not to have anything else but the
wasp on these. We wanted them to be trendy enough for people to use them
after the conference. If we go for text too I'd say we might as well scrap
the whole thing. Scandinavians are picky with merchandise and will likely
waste a beanie that feels too much like public marketing.
Believe me, Europeans typically throw away most things they get at American
conferences. I think it's a cultural difference."
So, do we allow the EU conference to use the attached logo or do we
implement some brand usage guidelines? We will be working on setting a
precedent for future events and individual logo graphics based on this
decision.
