Board, can you please review the document created by Jason and please
comment ASAP (
http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dd62v4jh_108pftq2cz&invite=1522783834 )
If we are going to do this, we need to move very quickly.

We also need somebody to take responsibility for this. Jason seems to be
very motivate, but I'm not sure if he wants to be the lead on this "Google
Summer of Code" OWASP project.

Do you (Jason) want to lead this project and be the main point of contact
for Google?.

Also, does any of you (Board Members) have some cycles to participate in
this effort?

Note that the first objective is to get OWASP to be a 'Mentoring
Organization' on the Google Summer of Code (which is what has the deadline
this friday)

> All,
> I've put together the following statement for OWASP's application to the
> Google Summer of Code program as a mentoring organization.
> The statement answers each of the 16 questions listed in Google's Mentoring
> Organization Application FAQ (
> http://code.google.com/opensource/gsoc/2009/faqs.html#0_1_org_app_08250740394219425_).
> Right now, there are inline comments in the document to show where each
> question is answered.
> I have this statement in a separate Word document with OWASP letterhead,
> but for the purpose of collaboration, Google Docs seemed easier. Pending the
> review of the Board and the Global Projects Committee, I will take any
> suggestions and edits into the Word document and submit the application to
> Google.
> Please note that the deadline for mentoring organization applications is
> THIS FRIDAY so we must take rapid action to ensure our application is
> accepted.
