[Owasp-board] advertising proposal from ISC2

Please take a look at Jessica’s proposal below. My initial reaction is NO
WAY but thought I’d run it by you before I decline her offer. I think,
however, there may be some benefit to “swapping advertising” with companies
to increase awareness of our conferences and hopefully drive up attendance.

I would like to counter offer with some potential shared advertising. While
I don’t want to give away any space, I do want to do everything possible to
increase attendance at our conferences for 2009.

Thoughts?

Message:

Hi Kate –

I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out to you in regards
to possibility forming a co-marketing agreement between OWASP and (ISC)2.
I know that there’s some common ground between our 2 markets, and I think it
would really benefit both of us. We have over 60,000 info-security
professionals worldwide, that we can help you reach out to.

Here are some ideas that I have come up with

OWASP AppSec US 2009: October, 2009 – Washington DC..

OWASP will provide the following benefits to (ISC)2

*	Exclusive 10x10 Booth Space

*	OWASP AppSec US 2009: October, 2009
*	Both events include All Exhibitor Special Benefits:

ü Placement of company logo in direct mail pieces/web site

ü Company description included in pre-conference brochure

ü Banner place in 1 high traffic area

ü Company Literature placed in every attendee bag

ü 1/4 page description of company in conference proceedings.

*	Special Sponsored Speaking Opportunity

*	(ISC)2 will have 1 speaking opportunity at OWASP AppSec US 2009

*	Online Advertising –

*	3 month online web banner advertising

*	Print Advertising –

*	1 Full page 4 color advertisement to be placed in the OWASP AppSec
US 2009 Conference Program

*	Access to Event Attendee Database

*	One (1) time use of OWASP AppSec US attendee list to send out HTML
email post show. Email to be used to promote (ISC)2 messaging, which needs
to be pre approved by OWASP.

*	Special discount

*	Special discount (top) for all (ISC)2 members

o Promotional material distribution – Insertion of the (ISC)2 resource
guide in the attendee bags as well as on a media wall – or similar
arrangement.

In return for the above listed benefits, (ISC)2 will provide:

*	CPE Email – One (1) Europe 2009 - Poland and three (3) US emails
promoted in the CPE email blasts. OWASP to supply copy that includes
discount code for (ISC)2 members. Dates TBD. PLEASE NOTE – (ISC)2 will
need one week for approvals before email is blasted. Banner plus 100 words
*	Dedicated e-mail blast: - (ISC)2 will provide for one dedicated
e-mail blast by region to (ISC)2 opted-in members for the following OWASP
events:

1.	OWASP AppSec Europe 2009 – Poland
2.	OWASP AppSec – Dublin Ireland
3.	OWASP AppSec US 2009

*	OWASP will submit copy with 100 words and establish together with
(ISC)2 the best date for the blast.

*	Website Exposure:

*	(ISC)2 will place ALL OWASP events in the industry event section of
the (ISC)2 Website. This will include:

1.	Full banner (468 X 60)
2.	SD Event logo
3.	Event Details (100 Word Description)
4.	Venue Details
5.	Seminar Agenda
6.	Sessions Descriptions
7.	Direct Link to Registration Website

o   (ISC)2  will place Full banners (468 X 60) on the online (ISC)2
Resource Guide. These will run monthly promoting whichever event you want
to highlight.

*	Print Advertising:

o OWASP Event listing in InfoSecurity Professional for Issue 5 (April
2009) and Issue 6 (June 2009).

1. Digital magazine available to all 60,000 members worldwide.

2.      Deadlines: Spring 2009 – February 13th Summer 2009 – May 15th

Please let me know if this is something that OWASP would like to do. These
are just some ideas to get started. We can move forward to finalizing an
agreement if this is of something of interest to OWASP. We are also open to
other ideas that would benefit both of us. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Jessica Smith
