Hi Guys

Sorry for this delay, but I guess it is better late than ever (and thanks
Matteo for kick-starting this thread).

Following the initial thread about organizing the next OWASP day (see
below), I would like to make this process official and start coordinating
it.

Some points (at this stage these are all draft ideas which we can change
based on your feedback:

  - As suggested we will call it: "OWASP Week - April 1st-8th 'WebAppSec Is
No Joke' ".
 - I know that to make the most of the '1st of April' idea we should have
all conferences in one day, but the experience from the last time showed
that that is just not possible. So we really need to give it a week interval
(and we must all call it OWASP Week)
 - I would like to encourage as much cross chapter traveling (specially in
close-by regions) where we actively encourage speakers and participants to
attend other chapters (we can provide financial assistance to speakers using
the OotM program (for more details on OotM see http://www.owasp
.org/index.php/OWASP_on_the_Move)
 - Here are the details from the last OWASP Week (at the time still called
OWASP Day): http://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Day . We had 17 chapters
that time, hopefully we will get 30 or 50 time time around.
 - I know that Italy and UK are already planning to participate and Belgium
due to the close-by OWASP EU conference will not participate. For the ones
that will participate, please use "Alison McNamee" <Alison.mcnamee at owasp.org>
as your main point of contact (I will be working with her on the logistics
of this event).
 - We still have some time to plan the delivery of some 'OWASP goodies' to
participating chapters (books, tshirts, DVDs) but we need to move fast in
finalizing the participants list (we also need to finalize qualities and
what will be sent).
 - As with the previous one, I want to create a DVD with all presentations,
and include video and audio if available (last time we only had audio from
the italian chapter). Let's work together to see the best way we can make
this happen
 - I also would like to see if we can broadcast some of these events, even
have two simultaneous OWASP chapters saying hello to each other via video
link

As always we (namely me and Alision) will need as much help as we can get
from you, so if you have some spare cycles, energy and ideas over the next
month, please join us in organizing this worldwide OWASP event :)

Thanks
