[Owasp-board] OWASP regions

I didn't mention anything like this, but I certainly am not opposed to the
idea. Your specific idea of trying to get something going in Venezuela is of
course something we'd like to see.

 

What are you thinking about, when you ask are we interested in investing in
this area?

Dave,

I think you mentioned at the EU conference the possibility of dividing OWASP
leadership by regions. I think South America has a lot of potential for us,
specially countries such as Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Argentina who
are supporters of Open Source Soft. This is something I want to really take
advantage of not just because I speak all the languages but because I read
and keep up with the open source news over there.  Venezuela for example
putting aside politics, is a supporter of open source. Brazil is what a lot
of us called the sleeping giant with huge potential in the software
industry.  I noticed that Venezuela does not have an OWASP chapter and I
would like to start something there. What do the founders think about
tapping into the South American developers community? Is this something you
would be interested in investing?
