[Owasp-board] Newsletter mailing?

I try to make sure we only use OWASP-ALL like once a month. I.e., for major
conference announcements or other significant events. Newsletters wouldn't
make the cut in my opinion. I'd just send that info to the leaders list, who
are the ones most likely to care, and they can forward to their chapter
lists if they find them interesting.

This is a tough one actually.  One thing we absolutely have to do is to put
a message at the top of every OWASP -ALL message that basically says,

"The OWASP-ALL list is used for infrequent announcements from OWASP. Anyone
subscribed to any OWASP mailing list is automatically on this list. To
unsubscribe from your OWASP list, please (VISIT XXX) and (FOLLOW
procedure)."

Perhaps we should move to once every 2 weeks.  Or maybe we should not use
this list for newsletters.  I can see where that might be annoying.

I actually wanted to ask you about sending this to the owasp-all mailing
list.  After I sent out the email last week, I got several requests from
people to be removed from the mailing list.  Do you think sending out a
weekly email about the newsletter to everyone is a good idea?  It seems like
people get annoyed when they get emails to this list.

Normally we copy the newsletter content and post it to the OWASP-All mailing
list (Jeff will have to approve sending).

Will you do that with newsletter 11 and 12? I would like to have the
AppSecEU08 CFP send to all Owasp contacts.
