Hello Josh and OWASP Alabama folks!
As you may know, the SANS Institute is bringing the Community SANS
program back to Birmingham September 15 - 22, 2008. We will be offering
one of our most popular courses, SANS Security 504: Hacker Techniques,
Exploits and Incident Handling in our signature Bootcamp style.
I am writing today for two reasons. First of all, with our Community
SANS events we really like to offer support to the local chapters in the
communities we serve so we would like to offer you a speaking
opportunity during our event. Normally we offer you a 15minute
presentation (Lunch n Learn) in order for you to let our attendees know
more about your local chapter, its activities and benefits of membership.
Secondly, we would be very happy to offer your members a discount on
Tuition for this course with use of Discount Code "COINS10". I have
included a course announcement below for distribution. Also, anyone
registering before Aug 6th saves another $250 Early-Bird and the COINS
discount is applicable on that already reduced tuition for further savings!
I hope to hear back from you and that we can work with your chapter to
help strengthen your local network security community in Birmingham!

which we ran in Birmingham last September.

Security 504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling is our
most popular technical course. Please read the comments below from
recent course alumni:
~ "The real-life examples really build the concepts presented. A great
~ class and an outstanding teacher!" - John Senn, Great Basin Bank
~ "An incredibly detailed course on exploits used by attackers trying
~ to gain access to your network." - Ernie Hernandez, USJFCOM
~ "Hands-on practice and detailed update on best tools and hacker
~ attacks, plus easy setup for tool use."
~ - Andy Proctor, GR Consulting
The GCIH certification, which you can earn after attending Security 504:
Hacker Techniques, Exploits & Incident Handling, is one of the
certifications required for the Master of Science Degree in Information
Security Engineering from the SANS Technology Institute,
http://www.sans.edu/info/29568.
WHY SECURITY 504: HACKER TECHNIQUES, EXPLOITS AND INCIDENT HANDLING
What makes this course different from "Ethical Hacking" courses is the
technical depth, quality of hands-on exercises, and the SANS 6-step
process for properly handling incidents.
