Hi Paulo and Paolo,

New York University's Masters Association for Computer Science graduate students are starting an open source program to encourage graduate students to contribute to Open Source projects. As soon as I heard this I contacted their VP Erica Wolfe and met with her right away. In nutshell, they are looking for representatives from active open source projects that can guide students to become active contributors to a project and thereby getting some experience. OWASP has lots of projects, they are not interested in documenting or writing guides, they want to earn some development experience, perhaps helping fix bugs, testing and development. Do you happen to know any project leader or contributor who is the New York City area and would have some cycles to meet with this group? I suggested I could be a proxy for a project but since I am changing jobs I don't know if I can commit fully to lead a project. I have a lot on my plate at the moment.

I am including Paolo Perego because I suggested the Ruby ESAPI Gems project as a possible project if there are no other projects with local contributors. I think lots of developers/students will be interested in participating in this project and we could use some help to get it off the ground.

Anyway, please let me know if there any possible project you think would be a better fit. I am copying Erica as well.

Erica - Feel free to provide any input.

Thanks,

Kuai Hinojosa
