[Global_chapter_committee] [Owasp-bayarea] Next Meeting?

Teresa, Mandeep, Cory, Brian and Garrett:

First of all, thank you for your interest and hard work in keeping the Bay
Area chapter going.

I think the issue started with Tom's email asking the activity of Bay Area
chapter. From the Wiki page of Bay Area chapter, it appears that there has
been no activity since July, 2010 (chapters are required to have at least
one meeting every quarter). A couple of folks jumped in and showed interest
in "restarting" the chapter.

OWASP is an open organization and we should welcome the enthusiasm in
getting the Bay Area chapter going. I hope that this new energy will take
the chapter to its next level. I hope that existing leaders and the new
comers can work out how it will work best moving forward.

If I may, I would like to suggest that we keep this June 22 meeting, and
enhance it with more speakers that Mandeep is planning on having.

I would also like to suggest a conference call before June 22 to figure out
June meeting plans, as well as how Bay Area leaders can work together to
host great events and meetings in the future. Some chapters, such as LA, NY
and MN, use Board of Director model for governance of the local chapter
successfully, and you may want to consider this for your chapter.

Please let me know if I can be of any help, either as a fellow chapter
leader, or as Global Chapter Committee, to make Bay Area chapter successful.

Thanks!
