I do not have any written instructions on how to use the email, but I will
bring this suggestion up to the Chapter committee.

I think the person was on the old mailing list, but I'm not sure. I will
pass along your info.

Thanks.

absolutely! you can do anything you wish. i have also teamed up with the
denim group here in texas with a local person who is going to help us out.
we have contacted the edu's, other groups in town (.NET, Java Houston, etc)
and cant seem to get things moving (there are many issues -- one is -- this
is not a strong place for webappsec (meaning houston). However, we are
trying to grow....so any thoughts you might have are welcomed!

is the person you are going to forward me over to on our current list of
folks? also -- any chance you might provide me with a bit more assistance?
we are not using the owasp email system for our meeting information, etc --
i have everyone who is registered offline on a list and send out information
through a local program that i have. do you happen to have a cheatsheet on
how to use the system to send out emails to my local chapter? i'm guessing
it's easy?

thanks kate!

David, thanks for the update. Can I send your email to someone who is
interested in helping out this chapter? You might already know him, but I
like to ask permission before giving out addresses.

Let me know what I can do to help you jumpstart your chapter? Also, you
might want to contact the Global Conference Committee and request
assistance. We have also come up with some great ideas for educational
institutions to become members in exchange for assistance with local chapter
meetings as well as an infusion of student members.

Please let me know how we can help.

Kate,

Thanks for the note! Yes....we are still holding meetings, but we had a
chapter meeting in august and it was requested that we pause until Feb 2009.
All of our postings for meetings include the presentation downloads (on the
houston page).

The chapter itself is not a great one. We typically get approximately 10
folks to each meeting with no fees, etc (i cover all of the charges for
food, etc). We are looking to get the chapter kicked back off in February
so we will be moving it forward then.

Thanks!

David

David, it appears that there has not been any meetings hosted by the Houston
chapter since August? I'm also not sure if these are meetings or
downloadable presentations.

How is the chapter doing? Do you have any meetings scheduled? I have had
some inquiries regarding meetings in the Houston area, and I would like to
direct them to your chapter, but I want to make sure you are holding at
least quarterly meetings. Let me know how I can help.

Thank you,
