Subject: OWASP German Language Project
Hi Paolo,
As you have might have seen, I have already started to work on restarting
the Java Project and have made good progress so far. I'm really locking
forwarding to working on this.
The last months, my main focus was, however, the German translation of the
ASVS guide as well as the preparation of other ones. And now it comes, that
other German translations have started or are discussed to do so. This is
why we urgently need a Language project building (at the beginnging) a
foundation and common terminology for German translations of OWASP
documents. And, of course, to plan and priorize new translations in the
future. Futhermore, it would reduce the load on our chapter mailinglist
regarding tranlation topics to those interested in it only. I already
started an initiative on this on the German Chapter mailing list a while
ago, and received overwhelming feedback.
Similar to the existing Spanish and Portugues Language, we would like to
start a "OWASP German Language Project". I was asked to take the project
lead for this. Altough already involved in the Java Project, I would be glad
to manage this project (at least for the start) too. Amongst other things
due to all the expierence I made with translating the ASVS and the material
I have already have in place for this. I do think that I have enouth time to
spend for both projects.
In difference to the Java Project I would, however, more focus on the
project lead and the organization. I even found a bunch of volunteers
willing to work on specific content/translations, QA and other topics.
I would therefore highly appreciate if you could set-up this new project for
us.
Thanks a lot!
Matthias
