Can you try a relative path, and let me know of that works? Try this below
and let me know where

ESAPI_logging_file.log lands.

Logger.ApplicationName=Saferequest

Logger.LogEncodingRequired=false

Logger.LogApplicationName=true

Logger.LogServerIP=true

Logger.LogFileName= ESAPI_logging_file

Logger.MaxLogFileSize=10000000

Subject: [Esapi-user] Issues with Logging in ESAPI

Hi,

I am trying to pilot ESAPI and I am facing issues with its logging feature.

Currently my ESAPI.properties file for the logging part looks like this:

# safe request is the name of my application and also my war file say
saferequest.war.

Logger.ApplicationName=Saferequest

Logger.LogEncodingRequired=false

Logger.LogApplicationName=true

Logger.LogServerIP=true

Logger.LogFileName= C:\\ESAPI\\ESAPI_logging_file

Logger.MaxLogFileSize=10000000

When I deploy my application on tomcat and do a few tests on it and try to
look for the log file in C:\\ESAPI\\ESAPI_logging_file I am unable to find
any log file. I even tried creating the folder 'ESAPI and also creating a
file 'ESAPI_logging_file' to get it to work but it still does not crerate a
log file. Am I doing something wrong?
