[Owasp-winnipeg] Tuesday, March 29 Meeting

We held the first official monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 29th.  This 
meeting featured an introductory presentation to OWASP (essentially a 
summary of the first meeting), and the first in a series of 
presentations on Data Validation.

I am working with other local groups to promote the organization but it 
is somewhat slow going; many of the groups I have presented at are 
management oriented.  They see value in the organization, and the 
understand the role that application security plays, however they are 
not the ideal target market.

In particular I would like feedback from members on the list on how to 
promote the organization; what would you like to see at the monthly 
meetings to draw you to them?  I am looking for any suggestions to raise 
interest, and assuming they are not too outlandish I will try to 
accomodate them.

In particular anyone who has the ability to reach a large number of 
people, either through professional associations, or through your 
employer, please contact me to discuss ways to promote the organization.

I would be more than happy to perform customized presentations, or to 
assist with developing a presentation to help promote OWASP.

The next monthly meeting is on April 26th, 2005, and the planned 
presentation will be an introduction to WebGoat.
