If you can do that you should stay, since it will also be very hard on you

I will already be in Europe the week prior, so rather than flying back to
the States on Jan 31st, we could change my flight to instead go directly to
Portugal and stay that week for setup. Even with the flight change fee and
hotel costs, I think that still ends up being cheaper for OWASP than to fly
me out from the US on Feb 5th or Feb 7th.
