Oh! And STL has a HackerSpace now. That's all I know about it, though.
Probably nice folks who we should pair up with.

The next STLSec is this Wednesday, October 14. It will continue to be
vendor-neutral, unsponsored, unmoderated, and without a president,
standards, quorums, bylaws, a code of ethics, or any rules whatsoever.
Well, okay, maybe a few rules.
I hate to have to spell this stuff out, but some of you don't seem to
cotton on to the subtle hints the rest of us keep dropping, so there it is.
1. PANTS OR OTHER SUITABLE LOWER TORSO COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED.
Yes, fine, kilts are okay, too, Mr. Renaissance Faire guy.
2. YOU HAVE TO SMOKE OUTSIDE NOW AT THE FOX AND HOUND
Only affected 10% of attendees anyway, but it's 2009 now, guy whose name
rhymes with Barry Fay and who complained about it last month.
3. YOU HAVE TO TALK TO PEOPLE AND YOU WILL GET INTRODUCED AND STUFF
I'm not sure who comes out to a social event to be anti-social, but
these are security professionals we're dealing with here. We've had
several nights where someone spent 2-3 hours drinking alone before they
confessed to being at the bar for STLSec. Take a Paxil first or something.
4. YOU SHOULD CONSUME BEVERAGES IN LIQUID FORM PURCHASED FROM THE BAR
Muslims, Mormons, Friends of Bill, and the underage (over 18) are
welcome, but be nice to the Cheshire Lodge staff and buy something to
compensate for the inexplicable monthly influx of weirdos they so
graciously cope with.
That's all. Come and see us or something, but bring pants (or a skirt or
kilt), talk to people, smoke outside, and buy a drink. We've got to draw
the line somewhere.
