[Owasp-leaders] Feedback Requested: OWASP Certificate Project

I'm generally not a fan of "contributor of the year" or "employee of the
quarter" kind of awards. I think they are inherently divisive and, in
our context, could potentially add a level of competitiveness into the
very collaborative and collegial atmosphere of OWASP.

I think your broader idea is a good one, though. If we don't already,
providing members with some sort of ISC2-ish certificate of membership
for hanging in a cube would do a few things:

1) Provide a point of pride to those members who care about such things
2) Elevate OWASP to the level of maturity of other organizations who
already provide such things (again, to those who care)
3) Help promote OWASP to those who see the certificate

I should note that I don't generally care about certs, plaques, and the
like, but as Napoleon said, "A soldier will fight long and hard for a
bit of colored ribbon."
