I was looking at:
Application Security and Development Checklist V2R1.4 Field
Security Operations
Developed by DISA for the DoD
18 December 2008
http://iase.disa.mil/stigs/checklist/application_security_checklist_v2r1_4.pdf
and amongst the many references to OWASP resources, there is a link to:
Format string problem
http://www.owasp.org/index.php/Format_string_problem
But this wiki page says "This page was marked to be reviewed for
deletion.". What does this mean? I haven't checked any other
references in the DoD document, but maybe it's a reminder not to
delete things too quickly, or at least make sure suitable redirects
are always created?
I noticed these more recent pages:
Format String
http://www.owasp.org/index.php/Format_String
Format string attack
http://www.owasp.org/index.php/Format_string_attack
Testing for Format String
http://www.owasp.org/index.php/Testing_for_Format_String
which might be replacements.
